April is always a busy month for our family.
This year, we wasted no time, and celebrated Logan's 13th Birthday on April 1st. This year, he chose to have a "Capture the Flag" game with around 30 of his friends at Carter Park. The party made for a great beginning to Spring Break for all the kids!

We then made a quick transition to focusing on Ethan on April 2nd, when he turned 9! He had one friend come to our house and play pool and Wii for a couple of hours. Unlike his more extroverted brother, Ethan loved having just one friend to celebrate with him.

After taking a couple days off to try to finish up all of Logan and Ethan's leftover birthday sweets, we celebrated Jameson's 3rd birthday on April 5th! He started off the day by attending his last Early Intervention class with Miss Rhoda.
As a three-year-old, he would officially start preschool on April 11th, when Spring Break was over!

In the midst of all the birthday celebrations, we
also got to watch Lauren and Justin perform "Aida," this year's BGHS musical. The entire cast did a fabulous job, with some amazing vocal and dancing talent!

Other April events included Justin taking his required 24 class hours of Driver's Education. He is now trying to fit in the required 50 hours of driving, before his 16th birthday on June 20th. He is determined to get his license on or soon after his birthday!
This month, Lauren officially decided to attend The University of Akron in the fall! She received a very sizable scholarship from them and will be a part of the Honors Program there, double majoring in Social Work and Spanish, with a minor in Dance.
We are so proud of her hard work through the years, especially this year, to have received so many honors! She was BGHS's "Student of the Month" for the month of January. She was chosen to be one of two seniors invited to share a short segment on our local ABC news channel. And next week we will find out what local scholarships she also received!
We will miss her so much next year. In fact, with every family tradition and celebration, we all wonder if she will be able to come back to BG and join us next year! If she does make it to all of them, she might not spend much time in Akron! I think we will have to "skype" with her to include her in all the family festivities here!
Today, we enjoyed celebrating the resurrection of our Lord at church. Once home, we continued with our family traditions at Easter: we colored eggs, Logan and Ethan made an Easter egg hunt for Jameson, Jameson decorated an Easter bunny cookie and the kids all made "resurrection treats."

So, that is a brief recap of our month so far! We still have Michael's birthday to celebrate on April 29th, although with his busy weekend schedule, we may postpone the celebration until sometime in early May!
We will keep busy next month, too! Logan and Ethan are in the musical, "Seussical" with 3B Productions in Maumee. Beginning tomorrow, they have rehearsals every day from 7pm-11pm for the next week and a half! They both will take the Ohio achievement tests in the midst of that crazy schedule, so we are hoping they can handle it! It looks to be a great show and we will be eager to watch them May 5th-8th!
Lauren will be attending her senior prom on May 7th, with a good friend and the male lead in this year's "Aida." This month, Lauren will also take both the Spanish and English AP exams, among many other senior activities, culminating with her high school graduation on May 27th!
So, as seems to be true to our "style," we have remained very busy with school, activities and community events!
Although the pace at the end of the school year can be a bit hectic, we look forward to all that the next few months will hold for us!
I love being a part of this family!
