Fall Fun

For the past 10 years or so, we have made it one of our annual traditions to go as a family to the Pumpkin Peddler. We enjoy a hayride (usually very cold and windy), picking out pumpkins, some family pictures and Michael's favorite part - iced sugar cookies. Unfortunately, this year they were out of the cookies when we went last weekend, so Michael was a bit disappointed!

Then usually within the week
, we assemble in the kitchen to have Michael help carve the pumpkins with the kids' pre-prepared intricate designs. This year, we added a few changes to our tradition: Lauren did not join us, as she was at a dance rehearsal then went out shopping with one of her friends and Logan was able to carve his own pumpkin for the first time!

We plan
to roast some of the seeds later on today. And in the next week or so, I will be making some pumpkin bread (with canned pumpkin, not our carved ones!).

Even in the midst of the busy-ness of our lives, this is one of the many traditions our children love, so we are thankful we were able to "carve" out some time this weekend to create these memories!
